Common Miele Refrigerator Faults
Built-in Miele columns run separate cooling circuits, and twin-compressor units give each section its own compressor. That is why one side can fail while the other keeps working - and why the fix starts with testing, not guessing. We check the sensors, the airflow and the compressor for that circuit and tell you exactly what died. A freezer air sensor fault (F111) is a common, fixable culprit.
The classic call after a water filter change: the filter light will not reset and the ice maker goes quiet. Sometimes it is the filter seating or water flow, sometimes the ice maker itself - and a new ice maker has to be integrated with the fridge electronics, or it drops one batch of ice and never makes another. We see this exact scenario on Miele built-ins again and again.
When food starts spoiling in waves, the defrost system is the usual suspect. On these built-ins the power board sits down by the compressor, and when it stops feeding the defrost heater, frost chokes the evaporator and the cold cannot reach the shelves. This fault has a known fix - a board, not a new refrigerator.
A clicking relay, or a compressor that hums and gives up, usually points to the start components or the inverter board rather than a dead compressor. Miele built-ins use inverter-driven compressors, and the replacement board has to match the compressor on your unit - guess wrong and you pay for the part twice. And if the compressor itself is gone, we replace those too.
